These terms apply when you submit a travel inquiry or request information through The Unofficial Escape website, WhatsApp, or email. Please read them carefully before getting in touch.
What an inquiry means
Submitting an inquiry is not a confirmed booking. It is an expression of interest. We will respond with availability, itinerary options, and pricing details based on your requirements. No travel plan is confirmed until you receive written confirmation from us and any applicable payment terms have been agreed.
Itinerary and pricing
- All itineraries, prices, and inclusions shared during inquiry are indicative and subject to change based on availability, season, and local conditions
- Final pricing is confirmed in writing before any booking is made
- Prices include only what is explicitly stated in the written confirmation
- Third-party costs (transport, entry fees, permits) may vary and are communicated in advance where possible
What is not included (unless stated)
- Personal travel insurance
- Personal expenses, tips, and gratuities
- Meals not mentioned in the confirmed itinerary
- Emergency medical or evacuation costs
Changes and cancellations
Travel in remote and offbeat areas involves a degree of unpredictability. We reserve the right to modify or cancel experiences due to weather, road conditions, safety concerns, or force majeure. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative or partial refund. Cancellation terms applicable to confirmed bookings will be shared in writing at the time of confirmation.
Traveller responsibilities
- Travellers are responsible for their own health, fitness, and travel insurance
- You agree to respect local communities, their customs, and the natural environment during your trip
- Any damage caused to homestay property or community spaces is the responsibility of the traveller
- We ask all guests to follow our low-impact travel guidelines shared prior to the trip
Accuracy of information
We make every effort to ensure that destination information, photos, and descriptions on our website are accurate. However, conditions on the ground can change. We encourage travellers to ask questions before booking and to come with an open and adaptable mindset.
Limitation of liability
The Unofficial Escape acts as a travel organiser and facilitator. We are not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage arising from third-party services, acts of nature, or decisions made by travellers during a trip.
